Freshi!!

Hi folks, I PROMISE I will provide some good updates about life in Dar, but instead of writing I’ve been staring at my computer laboriously tinkering with a lot of web design mumbo jumbo. Or as they say here, mambo! jambo! Here are some pics I’ve snapped on Instagram over the last few weeks

So, if you’re receiving these posts in an RSS feed, click on over to the blog to check out the freshi design! (That’s fresh, in Swahili!). Be back soon with more updates!

Screen shot 9647 photos Currently waiting as my lil laptop (go MacBook, go!!) exports my iPhoto collection onto my shiny new Lacie Minimus external hard drive, only to import back into properly labeled, dated, and edited folders in Lightroom. After talking about it for a year, am finally getting putting this whole ‘photo organizing’ thing to the test. And as that screenshots indicate, why yes, I do take selfies with my parents’ dog when I visit their home.

Down the Street

The DiploMan and I are somewhere fun this weekend, I’ll let you in on our adventure next week!

In the meantime, here’s a snapshot I took this week on my way to the market; I mostly like the pinks in the photo, but if it’s of any interest to you- those baskets and cages have all sorts of snakes and turtles and birds for sale. I’ve walked by these shops dozens of times, and not once have a seen a transaction take place. Good to know I’m not the only one freaked out by the lack of sanitation and regulation here.
